For that something simply different !
At just three miles long and a mile and a half a mile wide,
Sark is one of the smallest Channel Islands. Its geographic
position provides the warmest sea temperatures in the
British Isles which, combined with the excellent visibility
and fantastic marine life, offers some of the best diving in
northern Europe.

With over forty miles of rugged coastline and countless
reefs and drop offs, the waters around Sark are a divers
paradise. The sheer walls are home to sea fans and soft
coral and crammed with jewel anemones in every shade of the
rainbow. Being so much further south than the mainland the
marine life has a distinctly exotic flavour most
spectacularly illustrated in the rare and stunning sunset
cup coral. Add to this the colourful and inquisitive cuckoo
wrasse and more nudibranchs than you can shake a Nikonos at
and you can see why so many diver's return to Sark. For
those who prefer wrecks to reefs there's also plenty on
offer. There are Second World War cargo vessels and two
minesweepers as well as older wrecks and paddle steamers all
in varying depths.

The Channel Islands experience one of the greatest tidal
movements in the world which makes for some pretty exciting
drift dives. Then there are the infamous Gouliot Caves. The
walls are smothered with so much life that the locals call
them the Jewel Caves. Possibly the best four metre dive in
the world! The island itself is well worth exploring with
its wooded valleys, secluded coves and miles of picturesque
footpaths all unspoilt by the total lack of cars. Puffins,
peregrine falcons, guillemots, gannets and razorbills are
seen all through the summer and the hedgerows and heaths are
awash with wild flowers. There is a fantastic choice of
restaurants, cafes and pubs offering a mouth watering
variety of food, wine and beer.
